The Space

The Red Cottage is unreal with its proximity to town but secluded vibe! It is on a beautiful downtown lot with abundant privacy landscaping and a large front yard that's fenced-in for pets! Located in the Lumberyard Arts District of Brevard, it is perfectly situated for easy walking access to all Brevard has to offer. The Cottage was fully remodeled in 2009 and is both comfortable and functional. Enjoy coffee on the porch while listening to the local birds and spotting White Squirrels! Also, Gareth has turned the carport into a great spot for bike storage, bike washing, and bike maintenance with a bike stand and air compressor.

The cottage is at the back of the property. The front bungalow is owned by Gareth as well. These charming historic homes were lovingly restored and updated in 2009 by Parker Platt, a leading local architect. The cottage features a vaulted ceiling open floor plan great room, and maple floors. The bathroom features a glass door tile shower with 2 heads. There is a washing machine/dryer for your use. We are happy to be PET FRIENDLY and offer a large fenced-in yard for your furry friends. FINE HOMEBUILDING magazine featured the restoration of these homes in a 2012 edition. Gareth outfitted this cottage to be his dream place when he is in town and you will find all the comforts of home including a smart TV, and a fully equipped kitchen. The 1910 Craftsman Cottage has one main bedroom with a new deluxe king bed and a very comfy couch in the living room plus a fold-out floor mattress that can be used in the vaulted ceiling great room. There is one full-size bathroom, a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, a great room, a large front porch with a bar table for work/eating, and even a twin bed porch swing for reading, napping, or even a place to spend the night on mild evenings!

HOT TUB: Behind the Cottage is a private hot tub deck that is open for guest use during the fall, winter, and spring months Oct 1-May 31. Special accommodations can be made in the summer per request.

The front yard is fully fenced in and we do allow dogs to come on your vacation but we ask you please let us know as there will be a pet fee of $25/night for up to 2 pets and $15/night for each additional after. Please notify Gareth that you are bringing your furry friend and arrange to pay the pet fee. We need to be notified and receive the pet fee payment before check in or there will be an extra $50 charge.

If your dog enjoys getting on the furniture, please bring their favorite blanket or sheet to cover. And of course PLEASE pick up after your pet.

Please NO SMOKING inside OR ON THE PORCH. Use the picnic tables in the yard and throw butts in the outside trash.

Guest Access

You will have private access to the entire house, the surrounding fenced-in yard, and the hot tub deck behind the house.
